SO here we are at the end of 2011- and i think that (for one thinG) this band being around for a 2012 tour is the best thing that we could have ever asked for... given the circumstances (and there were LOTS of them) - but what a Great year 2011 was for all of us!!! Please join us at the LAKE TAVERN and seek out the beGinninGs of what 2012 holds in store for all of you awesome people who continue to show up at our shows and support us... 2011 hasn't exactly been easy at times.... but we LOVE all of you and PROMISE YOU that 2012 will be the year that synerGy banGed the GonG!!! we LOVE you all and look forward to kickinG many asses in the new year!

ok - so it looks like it's been about 9 months since i've even visited the bloG (my apoloGies), but here we Go aGain. just a couple of shows left in 2011 and the SPECIAL SAUCE TOUR 2011 becomes just another crumpled up piece of paper in the trash heap of synerGy history, but fear not, another year, another tour - it's just the way we roll...
had such a Great time at the LAKE TAVERN in dayville last thanksGivinG's eve, that we all decided we'd do it aGain this year! look forward to seeing you there - and my new year's resolution is to actually keep up on this thinG!

ok - so i think people who sue each other all the time are usually litigious assholes who take undeserving people to court rather than getting their money doing real work... so while I may in fact be an asshole, I can't help thinking that "somebody" may have a copyright infringement suit on their hands. The band's logo has been around and in use for at least ten years... so imagine my surprise when i stumble across this shit!

a REALY small place AND we had to buy our own beer (pete's pet peeve #1). the night was kind of like an awkward first date, the kind when you know you have to get through the night but you also know that no matter what, you're probably NOT EVER gonna date this chick again. oh, and she's a midget! (did i mention it's a really small place?) Having said that the people there were good to us and we got some great feedback - so thanks to all who were there! The idea was to take a silhouette of the band moving their OWN shit (we obviously had NO roadies!) and incorporate it into different situations. I actually had some fun doing these. We never really did stumble upon any roadies though...

Killingly’s synerGy are all about quality

GO recently asked 5 questions of Pete Sears from local band synerGy. Look for 5 questions from other local bands and bands playing in the region in future editions of GO.

How did your band form? Where and When:
We’re all from right here in northeast CT. We just kind of ended up together from different local bands. Dave and I were in a band called loaded moses, who we had put out a record with in 1994. Sean came from Think Big and Dreamline, and Jim came from The Exit. We played out as a cover band a lot in the early 90’s, then decided to take some time off and try doing our own stuff. Tony joined the band about a year ago right at the end of recording the album.

What type of music do you play? describe it.
I’d be hard pressed to put us into any one category. It’s definately rock, but we like to play around with different styles and genres. There’s stuff on the record that ranges from jazz, to bubblegum pop to heavy southern rock and everything in between. It does all have a certain sound throughout... you can tell its the same group of guys. Lyrically, I generally don’t write when i’m at my happiest or when things are going great. I find that part of the process really cathartic, so most of the songs have a tinge of loss or even sadness to them, but when we add the music, they somehow become these really almost happy-sounding sad songs.

What’s your live show like?
We’ve always tried to be about quality, whether its the sound system, the lighting, the album art, and everything in-between. If you’re going to choose to spend a night watching our band, we feel we kind of owe it to you to give you 100%. We do play a few things off the album, but we also play an awful lot of cover material. People want to hear music they know when they go out... we understand that and try to accomodate.

Why has your band been so successful?
Its always been slow and steady with us... we know where we’re going, even if it takes us years to get there. Perserverance and friendship. We’ve been at this for over 10 years and we still look forward to getting together every week and making music. Everything else is just gravy.

What’s in the future for your band?
For the immediate future, we want to get out there and start playing live again, both just for fun and to support the album. We also own our own recording equipment, so I’m sure another album will surface eventually... but we’ll blow up that bridge when we come to it!

FUN FEST 2009 in North Grosvenordale - SATURDAY, MAY 16th

Thank You to everyone who came out in the shitty weather and contributed their time and money for a good cause at the St. Joseph's Fun Fest. Special Thanks to Johnny Lightboy and Dave Allen for giving up pretty much an entire day to hang out with us.
Lessons Learned:
1) Never play in a tent!!! The sound of Jim's snare-richochett bouncing from canvas to canvas to concrete was something we never did overcome... it was REALLY loud in there.
2) Always bring a portable dressing (read: beer-drinking) trailer. Thanks Lightboy!

thanks very much to all who came out last niGht at rick's... we had a Great time and from what i hear played pretty well (hard to tell on staGe... sound sucked up there). we pretty much played synerGy-only sonGs with the exception of "my own worst enemy", by lit and "counting blue cars" by dishwallah. after we played, the rest of the night gets a little blurry - just like these pictures from johnny liGhtboy.....

The band is called SYNERGY from Conn.Dave Hayden - GuitarsSean Cristofori - Bass, VocalsJim Kamm - DrumsPete Sears - Keyboards, VocalsThe Cd is titled "What are you kidding me with this"Kinda long for a cd subtitle.
Very well done CD sleeve and printed Disc. Professional in Appearence.The bands name/logo appears on the front cover, which is a Nuclear symbol.so i’m already interested (I work in the Nuclear Industry) I put the Cd in and hit play---Well it’s easy going Rock n Roll, I like it. the recording is clean though I’m having a hard time hearing the guitars. the vocals and drums are very dominent. lyrics are good and the song structure is strong. I can see myself in a bar with these guy’s playing, The music is something everyone could enjoy. My metal head friends and my mother could get into this.Track 3 - "you can call me romeo" has a 70’s feel to it. If your’e looking for some could clean rock n roll this might be right up your alley. they sound like a summer BBQ in the back yard with Family and Friends.I think we’ll see some more from this band. Hopefully there are looking to do some shoreline shows.
